My name is Andrew Sorrell and I am the owner of Sorrell decorating. I have been decorating since I was 17 years old ( 2001). I have done all types of decorating, started off in London where I grew up and climbed the ladder. I was a decorators mate for a year or so before I started to really get my teeth into it, I’ve done all sorts of work from repetitive site work to custom works such as wall murals and bespoke furniture spraying.
I spent 8 years with the same company elite decor and learned a lot from my boss at the time, who then became a friend. We worked a lot on high-end shop fits such as space NK and paperchase which had to have a pristine finish in next to nothing time scales, we also done a lot of high-end country manor home across the country and high-end hotels such as the savoy London. I then moved on to pastures new and began to look after a group of decorators as a foreman for Bryant decorators etc in Brighton, where I gained a lot of knowledge in airless spraying concentrating on large scale projects like student accommodation halls and large housing developments.
Then I decided to take the reins completely and start Sorrell decorating, I’ve built my team over the last few years having to lose people in order to get the mix just right, and I couldn’t be happier with how we’ve developed as a team, my partner Lauren is also taken a role in the accounts and tendor department giving it more of a family-run feeling. People often ask me “do you not get bored of your job” and the answer is defiantly no, they say a man who loves his work doesn’t do a day in his life, that is so true. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you
